For reviewers
Reviewer Onboarding.
Follow these steps to set up your account and make yourself visible to editors who want to work with you.
Register yourself as a reviewer on ScienceNet.
- Provide relevant and accurate professional information in the form (including optional fields if possible).
- After registration, you will receive an email with a confirmation link. If you cannot find it, check your spam folder.
- Once you confirm, our moderator will review your submission, validating your experience as a scientist and reviewer (based on your ORCID, LinkedIn profile, and the details you provided in the Bio field). This usually happens within 1 working day. If the moderator needs clarification, they will contact you by email.
Once the moderator accepts you, sign in to ScienceNet.
- The first page you will see after logging in is your reviewer dashboard.
- Here you can find the key information grouped in sections:
- Your profile summary with your current review price list
- Review invitations from editors
- Active reviews you are participating in
- Upcoming deadlines
- Completed reviews and your earnings
We recommend providing all information about yourself during sign-up. However, it is worth checking again and filling in anything missing. A complete profile helps you stand out to editors.
- List your expertise topics using appropriate keywords in the Keywords section.
- Add your photo and links to your website and LinkedIn profile.
- Highlight your key achievements as a scientist and reviewer in the Bio section.
Your goal is to become the preferred reviewer for editors who value and compensate your expertise.
Inside your profile, go to the Manage pricing page. By default we have set up two review options for you:
- Standard review — response time 3 weeks, recommended price €100
- Fast review — response time 1 week, recommended price €150
These are our suggested starting prices, but you can adjust them freely. If the defaults suit you, just activate both options and you are ready to go!
Of course, you can create more review types, each with a different price depending on your response time. For each option in your price list you can:
- Change the price, description, and response time
- Enable, disable, or remove it

Do you often receive emails from editors asking you to review for free? Now you can reply in seconds and redirect them to your ScienceNet profile so they can request your paid review.
Set up your custom link (one-time only):
- 1.Inside your profile, click the Share button, then Create share link.
- 2.Once complete, you will get a shareable link to your profile.
Now respond to all emails from editors:
- Insert the template text (click Invitation response to copy it)
- Insert your profile link (click Link to copy it)
If you do not receive such emails yet, do not worry — editors registered on ScienceNet actively browse and search the directory to find the best reviewers for their needs. We will send you an email and in-app notification once an editor sends you a review invitation.
